Rose Edmunds style of cleverly written and pacey modern thriller really chimes with me. The protagonist Claudia and her sidekick Hugo seem very real, strong but flawed, determined but hapless, little people taking on big money and never leaving a stone unturned.
If you are particularly fond of financial thrillers you will LOVE this, and if like me, you don’t know your share options from your allocations of divisional overheads (I haven’t got a clue what any of that means), you will still enjoy it very much – I read it over a period of two days because (cliché alert!)…. I couldn’t put it down!
A thoroughly enjoyable book, hanging with suspense, this is without a doubt the best from Edmunds so far. It will have you gripped from the start. Enjoy!
I’ve enjoyed all the books of the Crazy Amy series, but I think this is the best yet. Bringing Amy’s facility with finances into the world of historical art is an intriguing match, and the story proceeds accordingly. It’s fast-paced with a number of twists and turns.
